I just learned of Art’s passing and with a heavy heart, I offer my deepest sympathies to his family. As I looked through some of the comments and pictures it brought back many fond memories of Art.  My thoughts and prayers are with you and most importantly, his soul in heaven.

You were a very dear friend to David as a childhood friend.  When David and I first 
Started dating as teens. You always made us laugh! I remember the Cruise we took to the Bahamas! You, Lori, David and I! Such a Great Memory! But, Most Memorable You,! Art  Franco, David Blankenship, Gary Benzenberg, and Herren brothers! Met up every week to play Baseball! 🤗🙏❤️ God Bless🙏❤️🤗

I am still in shock of Art’s passing and my thoughts and prayers to all of his family. I have known Art since I was around 9 years old he was older than me but hung around all my older brothers and used to work with my sister at the skating rink where he was a referee I can still hear him razzing me. Lol Art has help me thur some tough times.Treated me like a little brother. We played softball together ,football and basketball. We even worked together for many years. We also did a lot of car shows, car cruises and lots of other car events. He was an awesome cook. I have never tasted  anything close to his bbq ribs, pork, brisket. Not a weekend went by we didn’t hang out or talk. So many awesome memories.. So sad to hear of his passing.  RIP Art 

Just wanted to send my condolences to Art's Family and loved ones.   I was deeply saddened to hear of his passing.   He was a wonderful soul and Heaven has gained one of the greatest.   

I remember way back when my daughter Jess was playing tball,  he was one of her favorite coaches. He always made her feel special. 
Because she was the only girl on the team, he always took extra time with her and gave her special attention. She adored him and I will forever be grateful he had that early impact on her life … Rest in peace Art and thank you Joye for showing him what True Love is.  I Will be praying for you all 🙏🏻💜🙏🏻

I was so sorry to hear of Art’s passing and my condolences to all of his family.  Art was my neighbor growing up, one year older than me and I have so many wonderful memories of him! Art was like a big brother to me.  We were such good friends - playing every sport possible in our yards, going to the roller rink, staying out until the street lights came on, and playing ball at WDYA on the Astros together when older.  One of my favorite memories was bowling at Cassett Lanes (see pic) where Art gave me my nickname Scurvy which people still know me as today.  Art was always such a great friend, a kind soul, witty, and was a friend to anyone who met him.  He will be missed…RIP Art

God bless you in heaven brother and prayers for strength for family and friends as we remember your humor and great cooking RIP… Art was a great friend to my family growing up together graduating with my brothers in high school and softball in 1990s always there to assist in anyway he could throughout our lives whether it be Bbq cook offs  or fund raising he was always in… making us laugh and a true competitor.. always In our hearts and memories as we remember you we also pray for strength for your family and grandchildren as well as your beautiful mom and sister today . RIP my friend 

Prayers to everyone in Art's family and please know that he is healthy and strong again in a beautiful Heaven. We will all see each other again one day...I look forward to it. My Mom, both grandmothers and my grandfathers are all waiting until it's my turn. Heaven isn't a bad place to be! 

Saddens me greatly to hear of Art’s passing. 
Growing up on the Westside and attending Jacksonville Heights Elementary School is where I met Art.  Art and I were both a head taller then everybody else so sometimes people confused us for each other.  
Being thought of as Art Franco was not a bad thing.  He like myself was a Gentle Giant.  Big enough that no one bullied us but nice enough that we did not bully others.  Played baseball against him at WDYA.  Unfortunately like many others we went our separate ways after school and sadly did not keep in touch. 
I had the privilege of seeing him again last year at a High School reunion.  
I remember Jimmy Post saying hey big Wayne you are going to be pitching against big Art.  We always had great games.  
I find it very easy to say Art was one of the good guys I met growing up.  
Miss him already.

 so very sorry to hear to hear about Art use to pal around with my son David Blankenship. He use to come to my house quite a few times . so very very sorry.                                                                                                

I love you Dad.  So thankful for all of the memories we had together.

Art was such a great friend,, I'm going to miss him dearly 💔 he helped me with my husband when he passed, I'm in shock over this news ,
