Barbara Becky R. Torrible

Barbara R. (Becky) Torrible, our mom went to join “the love of her life” on November 16, 2011. She was born in Cleveland, Ohio on July 12, 1934. She knew in high school that she wanted to be a nurse. After graduating from Plant High School in Tampa, Fl, she attended Charity Hospital School of Nursing in New Orleans, La. After graduation from Charity, she returned to Tampa and remained there until 1969. We then moved to Jacksonville, FL and mom subsequently met Fred Torrible. Fred and Becky married on August 18, 1973. Mom was always learning and received her BS in Nursing and a Masters of Science in Health from the University of North Florida. The last 12 years of her career were as a Nursing Home Administrator. The last five of those years were at Life Care Center of Hilliard. She retired in 2004. Before and after her retirement Mom was a mentor to many. One of her most satisfying accomplishments was helping others achieve more than they ever dreamed possible. Becky leaves behind 2 daughters, Pam Hatfield and Pati Mah (Stuart), a grandson, Tyler Patton, an aunt and cousin in Altoona, PA (Betty Kimmel and Peggy Coleman) and a very special friend, Jeannie Wells, who “truly went above and beyond” to help our mom.
