Betty Jo Roberts

She was born in Tennessee and lived most of her life in Jacksonville Florida.

She was a wonderful mother who was always there for family and friends, offering support, love, and wisdom. She loved all fiercely. She adored her pets through the years and had many. Mom had a quick wit and you knew you were loved if she was teasing you.

She worked hard as a secretary for 40 years with many different companies including McDuff appliances and Florida Glass ending her career with Coastal Unilube. In her retirement years She enjoyed traveling and camping with her friends. She loved to fish and working in her gardens. Attending to her flowers brought her great joy. She enjoyed her grandchildren and especially her great grandchild.

She was predeceased by her husband Robert W.Roberts (Buddy), all of her siblings (6 sister and 1 brother) and her parents. She was the last of the Simpson girls. She leaves behind her longtime companion Wes Boyce, her children Anthony and Anne Roberts, Brenda and Lamar Weatherford, three grandchildren, Robert and Jody Ward, Matthew Ward and a great grandchild Aubrey Wilkinson along with many friends who felt her warmth and generosity and her quick wit.

She was always willing to listen and love. She will truly be missed by all that loved her.

A visitation for Betty will be held Friday, August 16, 2024 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Friday, August 16, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will occur Friday, August 16, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 3:30 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
