

Professor Bill Beach, 83, passed away peacefully in his sleep on Friday, August 17, 2012 in St. George, GA where he lived with his neice Cheryl Thomas and Kevin Moore his caretakers. Bill was born December 15, 1928 in Baxley, Georgia to Annie and James Beach Sr. He was a spiritual man and will be dearly missed. Bill is preceded in death by his parents, Annie and James Beach Sr., his beloved wife Lillie, brothers; John Allen Beach, James Mitchell Beach Jr., William R. Beach, and his sister Carolyn Fay Roberts. He is survived by numerous nieces, nephews and great-nieces and nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. Bill proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII as a parachute rigger. He founded the Hawaiian Jujitsu Foundation in 1971 and mentored hundreds of students. He was an employee of JEA and worked his way up to safety officer. A visitation will be held Wednesday, August 22, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral services will be held Thursday, August 23, 2012 at 11:00 am in the chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Internment to follow services at Riverside Memorial Park. Pallbearers to assist; Steve Barber, Alex Limbaugh, Jason Parrish, Scotty Grey, Emory McLaughlin, and Berry Bennett with Pastor Paul Hale officiating.
