

Bonifacio “Bon” Vega Jr., age 49, passed away November 9, 2015 in Jacksonville, FL. Bon was born September 6, 1966 in Newark, New Jersey to Bonifacio and Carmen (Ortiz) Vega Sr. He was preceded in death by his mother Carmen Vega and one brother Jose Pagan. Bon met Angela (who he called Zee) in September of 2002 and they married March 30, 2007. Bon worked as a Network Engineer. Bon’s favorite quote was “You are my World”. Bon loved hanging out in St. Augustine, Orlando, cruising and attending Jaguar games. He will be remembered for not only being a sharp dressed man sporting Fedora’s but also as a collector, mainly of Disney Vinylmations. He enjoyed salsa music which kept him close to his Latina heritage. He also enjoyed house music. Bon also was known in Philadelphia as DJ Bon Vega and co-produced “Smiling Faces”. Bon enjoyed all sports but his favorites were baseball, football, and basketball and his favorite teams were Jacksonville Jaguars and New York Mets. He was a grill master and was famous for his Sazon chicken wings. Bon also had the love for Broadway and his favorite show was Phantom of the Opera. Bon will be missed dearly by his wife Angela “Zee” Marie Vega; sons Eric Vega, Julian Vega, Christian Vega- Diana Vega-Sanchez; step son Brandon Zomerfeld; father Bonifacio Vega Sr.; sisters Marilyn Vicuna, Ivette Alicea (Juan), and Elsie Vega. Family will receive family and friends 5:00 – 8:00 pm Friday, November 13, 2015 at Haradge-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will be 10:00 am Saturday November 14, 2015 at the funeral home. Interment will follow the services at Riverside Memorial Park.
