Brian Del Rosario Garcia passed away on July 4, 2024 at the age of 40 years old. He is survived by his parents, Leopoldo and Virginia Garcia, brother Patrick Garcia, sister Debbie Tionquiao, brother-in-law Vincent Tionquiao, and nephews Evan, Tyler, and Nathan Tionquiao.
Brian was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on October 30, 1983. Because his father was in the navy, the family was constantly on the move. After only a year in Philadelphia, Brian and his family relocated to their final duty station in Jacksonville, Florida where he resided for the remainder of his life. Duval became his true hometown.
Brian attended Sabal Palm Elementary School, Landmark Middle School and Sandalwood High School. He was an adventurous and carefree child. He enjoyed playing outdoors: climbing, fishing, and riding anything on wheels. Brian had a talent for baseball and became an All-Star Little League player, playing almost every position and excelling as pitcher. He enjoyed all the classic 80s and 90s movies, memorizing the lines to every Jean-Claude Van Damme movie. Later in life, he developed a love for the NFL and the Jacksonville Jaguars. He was even lucky enough to attend games during the inaugural 1995 Jaguars season, when he was only 11 years old.
As an adult, Brian found his calling in the food and hospitality industry. He had worked at numerous food and hotel establishments through the years, but found his home with Concord Hospitality. He won numerous awards from Residence Inn by Marriott Jacksonville - Mayo Clinic, helping his hotel to win Residence Inn Brand Hotel of the Year 2023 among 866 Residence Inns, and Diamond Circle Winner for Guest Satisfaction within Marriott. Brian was a kind, dedicated, and loyal team member who will be sorely missed by his coworkers, who very much adored him.
Family and friends will always remember Brian for his huge heart, selflessness, and incredible sense of humor. He never hesitated to lend a hand, and was especially helpful around the house for his strength and size. His gleaming smile and infectious laugh could light up any room. He lived in the moment and never took a day for granted.
