Carolyn Jeanette McKinney

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the death of our mother Carolyn Jeanette Mckinney. Sadly she passed away on June 23, 2025 at the age of 82. She was a beloved and Godly mother to four children whom she loved with all her heart. She passed away at St. Vincent's Clay Hospital of respiratory distress leaving a void her family cannot fill.

She was born in Lake City in 1942 to Thomas Jefferson Kemp and Mildred Elizabeth Kemp.

Carolyn was a devoted mother to John R. Gillis (Theresa), Marian Cross (Gary), Michelle Bullard (Darrell Sr.) and Brian Warren. They were her pride and joy. She always said their birth changed her life for the better, and they felt that in the love and support she provided.

Carolyn took special joy in raising her children to know and love the Lord.

Carolyn was preceded in death by her father Thomas J. Kemp and her mother Mildred E. Kemp. She was also preceded by her sister Loretta Hawkins and brothers Benny Kemp and David Kemp and her son Brian Warren.

She is survived by her spouse, William (Bill) P. Mckinney, her brother Tommy Kemp (Ardith), her children John R. Gillis (Theresa), Marian Cross (Gary), Michelle Bullard (Darrell Sr.) and her grandchildren (Sabrina Carter (Shannon),Deanna Bullard, Darrell Bullard Jr., Noah Cross and Kiersten Cross)who will never forget the love she brought to their lives. She also leaves behind several great grandchildren, Shannon ll, Shane, Seth, Silas, Aria, Rylee, Emelia and one great-great grandchild Abigail.

A visitation for Carolyn will be held Tuesday, July 1, 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, July 2, 2025 at 12:00 PM, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A committal service will follow immediately after the funeral service.
