Carroll Allen Matter, 58, passed away on Tuesday, February 11, 2014 in Jacksonville, FL. He was born November 18, 1955 to Carroll and Grace Matter in Youngstown, OH. Allen liked to call himself a “Master Tinkerer” because he loved to “tinker” with so many different things. The junk cars which he bought and sold were a favorite, but lawnmowers, computers, roofs, watches and televisions were some of his other toys. Allen loved to help people, and even when he was feeling ill would say, “I’m OK” and roll up his sleeves. His yellow lab, Sheamus was his baby and he was so very proud of him. A favorite pastime was watching WWE wrestling as well as Smackdown and RAW. Another favorite were the Jaguars. Win or lose he’d be there rooting for them. Allen is survived by his sister Dorothy Yarbrough and her husband Timothy as well as multiple lifetime friends. Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. A memorial service will be held on Sunday, February 16, 2014 at 10:00am in the chapel.
