Catherine Rachel Brunelle

Catherine R. Brunelle, 91, of Jacksonville, FL, beloved wife, mother, grandmother and aunt passed away Monday, April 4, 2016, after a valiant battle with cancer. She was born in Wilmington, Massachusetts, on November 16, 1924, and has been a resident of Jacksonville since 1984. She married her childhood sweetheart, Albert, in 1943. Their 60-year marriage has always served as a wonderful example to family and friends, of what a loving, committed relationship should be. Left to cherish her memories: daughters, Denise Canavan and Cathi (Alan) Cooper, all of Jacksonville, FL; son, Albert F. (Barbara) Brunelle, Jr. of Plano, TX; grandchildren, Tim (Pam) Canavan, Valerie (John) Dorrian, Eric (Cherilyn) Canavan, Kary (Sue) Metcalf, Kory Metcalf, Heather (Jason) Mixon, Carrie (Christopher) Naff, Rachael Brunelle, Patrick Brunelle, Ashley Cooper, and Charles R. Cooper; great-grandchildren, Jay, Nicholas and Ryan Dorrian, Illyana and Emily Mixon, Carly and Tyler Canavan, Andrew, Amber, Amy and Abby Canavan, Dane and Jack Metcalf, and Camryn Naff. Those who knew and loved her are grieving a special woman who graced our lives with character, integrity, intelligence and love. There will be no replacing this strong, quiet woman. Her passing leaves a void and an ache in all our hearts. We give thanks to the Lord that she is now at peace and we will treasure her memory forever. The viewing will be held from 6 to 8 pm on Thursday, April 7th at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, FL 32225, and the service will be held at 11 am on Friday, April 8th at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
