Major Cecil Tanner, 97, passed away Monday, February 6, 2017 in Orange Park, FL. He was born September 21, 1919 to Lealand and Bessie Tanner in Hampton, FL. Cecil was a lifetime member of the Military Vehicle Preservation Association. He served in the United States Army for 21 years and retired as a Major. Cecil is preceded in death by his loving wife of 64 years Margaret Haringer Tanner. He is survived by three sons Wayne Tanner of Highland, Indiana, Alan Tanner of Glen St. Mary, FL and Robert Tanner of Glen St. Mary, FL. Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home is serving the family. A visitation for friends will be held on Sunday, February 12, 2017 at the funeral home from 5-7pm. Funeral services to begin at 11am in the chapel of the funeral home on Monday, February 13, 2017. Interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery at 2pm following the funeral services.
