Cecilia Orietta Wells

Born in Lima, Peru, Ceci was the cherished youngest child of Victor and Virginia Saona. She grew up among her siblings, all but one of whom predeceased her. Early in life, she earned a coveted position at the U.S. Embassy in Lima. In her early thirties, she bravely moved to the United States to begin a new chapter, embarking on a multi-decade career in banking. She rose to the position of Customer Care Supervisor and, eventually, to Quality Analyst Officer.

In 1991, Ceci met the love of her life, Tony Wells, a young Coastguardsman. His career took them to various locations along the Eastern Seaboard, where together they built a life filled with devotion and adventure. Their 34-year marriage was a testament to love and partnership, strengthened by Ceci’s unwavering support and faith.

Ceci was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, sister, and aunt. Her faith and family were the center of her world. She is survived by her husband, Tony; her children, William A. Wells, Jr. (wife Lana) and Bridgette Wells; her beloved grandchildren, Andrew, Dash, Sarah, Angelina, and Camilla; her sister, Dari Vargas of Australia; brothers-in-law, Sam Wells (wife Carol), and Rob Wells (wife Diane); and, numerous nieces and nephews.

Above all, Ceci was a disciplined disciple and prayer warrior for the Lord Jesus Christ. Her faith was the cornerstone of her life, and after Christ, her family always came first. She was deeply involved in her church, Celebration, where she served in the deliverance ministry. There, she found her calling as a counselor and mentor, guiding countless people to walk in joy, peace, and victory through Jesus Christ.

Ceci was also an accomplished author, having written The God I Know and Out of the Dark, Into the Light. Her third book, completed but not yet published, will continue to carry forward her legacy of faith and encouragement.

Her life was a testament to love, devotion, and unwavering faith. She will be remembered for her radiant spirit, compassionate heart, and steadfast commitment to Christ and her family.

Service Arrangements

A viewing for Cecilia “Ceci” S. Wells will take place on Friday, December 26, 2025, from 9:00–9:30 AM at Celebration Church, located at 9555 R G Skinner Pkwy, Jacksonville, FL 32256.

Immediately following the viewing, there will be a Celebration of Life service officiated by Pastor Tim Timberlake. After the service, attendees are invited to a time of sharing and refreshments, which will take place before the procession to the cemetery.

Interment will be held at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218. The procession will depart after the refreshments in order to arrive at the cemetery by the firmly reserved time of 12:30 PM. Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
