

Charles A. Barnett, 76, of Callahan, FL passed away on Sunday, August 10, 2014. He was born in Lecenter, Minnesota to Albert and Rebecca Barnett. At one month of age the family moved to Monticello, Minnesota. In 1955 at the age of seventeen Charles joined the US Navy. He was stationed in Jacksonville where he resided until 1983. He then moved to Callahan, Florida where he lived until the day he went to heaven. Survivors include children; Victoria Leigh, Allen Barnett Savage, Helen “Monkey” (James “Buzz”) Buzzard, Tammie “Tam Tam” (Alton “Al”) Crews, Vickie (Buzz) Labar and Mack (Donna) Manuel. One brother, Al (Annetta) Barnett, three sisters; Marie (Comert) Burseth, Violia (Rich) Rajendren and Virgina Barnett, thirteen grandchildren; Richard Rowell, Mack “Buckwheat” Manuel, Loyce Manuel, Courtney Whitaker Alford, Ciji Watson, Tamara Argoe, Marinda Mooney, Dakota Smith, Philip Watson, Kristina Watson, Kevin Waton, Michael Leigh and Heather Savage. 23 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.
Charles was predeceased by parents Albert and Rebecca Barnett, sisters; Marney Goorey and Florance Muller, son; James Manuel, grandson; Charles (Little Charlie) Rhodes, granddaughter; Donna Jean Cox and great granddaughter Harley Sky Argoe and nephew; Russell Muller. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, August 13, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00pm. The funeral service will follow on Thursday, August, 14 at 11:00am. Both will be held at Hardage Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205 (904) 781-9262. Internment will take place at Riverside Memorial Park.
