

Charlotte Grace Jackson, 84, passed away Monday, August 13, 2012. She was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville, FL. She was born on February 23, 1928 in Jacksonville, FL to the Late Bernard and Gladys Coates Tisdale. She was a beautiful person outwardly as well as inwardly, who was known by her lovely smile. After marring the love of her life Alton “Jack” of 49 years, she put a lot of love into her children who nothing was held more dear. Always a Southern lady who left her children with many happy memories of family laughter and wonderful food at any occasion from homemade cakes to hand-blown painted Easter eggs. She supported her children in their activities growing up in Girl Scouts, Den Mother, Church Leader and Camp Director.
Charlotte was a loyal Civil Service Employee with Master Jet Base Cecil Field and a Union Representative, retiring in 1990. She then retired from JEA. She was a Breast Cancer Survivor. She also was a Past Chief of the Pythian Sisters.
Charlotte is preceded in death by her husband, Alton Addis Jackson, Jr., her sons, Gregory Alton and Gerald Burt, a sister Christina Kafferlin, and grandson, Marshall L. Cain, Jr.
Charlotte leaves to cherish her memory and celebrate her legacy with her 4 daughters, Annette Sisco (Phil) of Clearwater, Fl, Theresa Cain (Marshall) of Jacksonville, FL, Arrine “Rennie” Cindrick (Dennis) of LaGrange, GA, Bernadene Gay (Carlton “Tim”) of Riverview, FL and grandchildren, Angie Merrill, Patrick Bruneau, Stephen Tyler, Matthew Cain, Michael Cain, Kerri Wood, Gerald Jackson, Jr, Christopher Tyler, Charles Jackson, Charles Jackson, Brice Wood, Scarlet Cindrick and Amie Gay; 7 great-grandchildren ; a large extended family of many nieces, nephews, cousins and loving friends.
The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Friday “today”, August 17, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home, 729 S. Edgewood Ave., Jacksonville, FL., 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, August 18, 2012 at 2:00pm, Hardage-Giddens Edgewood Funeral Home Chapel, followed by Charlotte’s burial at Riverside Memorial Park Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL. (In lieu of flower here if you want). Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32205.
