Curtis “Butch” Harvey Kimbler, age 82, passed away in Jacksonville, FL on January 22, 2026. He was born in Dublin, Virginia on July 23, 1943, to Curtis Frank Kimbler and Goldie Elizabeth Roseberry Kimbler.
After getting his High School Diploma he joined the United States Navy and was in for 54 years, both active and civilian duty. While in the Navy he became an aircraft engineer mechanic. August 19, 2023, he married Kathy Nadine Sheffield.
Butch was a Master Mason at Wesconnett Lodge #297, was a member of American Legion Post 137 and also belonged to the Abate biker brotherhood. As the owner of Greybeards Tavern he enjoyed entertaining patrons with his magic tricks. He liked woodworking, birdwatching, coins, discussing politics and the military.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy Sheffield Kimbler, daughter, Dianelle Kimbler; and sister Teresa Kimbler Hall.
Preceded in death by his father, Curtis Frank Kimbler; mother, Goldie Elizabeth Roseberry Kimbler; daughter, Kimberli Kimbler; and sisters, Luana, Frankie and Bonnie.
