Born in Buffalo, New York, on July 1, 1939, Dianne later relocated to the nearby town of Cheektowaga as a child. She married her high school sweetheart, John Edwin Fox, on March 1, 1958. The following year they welcomed their only child, John James Fox, and raised him in Angola, New York.
Dianne’s first job was as an elevator operator. She later spent more than a decade as a bank courier, a role she enjoyed because of her love of driving. Lastly, she spent 31 years as an associate at Walmart before retiring at the tender age of 82.
Ceramics was a hobby Dianne relished for many years. In the late 1980s, Dianne and John moved to DeLand, Florida to be closer to family. In her later years, she was fond of watching the news and true crime dramas. She had a lifelong love of ice cream, and in the family, she had a reputation for her goulash, brownies, and cheesecake.
Dianne was known to hum often as she went about her day. Her home included a menagerie of animals over the decades, including dogs, cats, fish, parakeets, and even a parrot. She lost her final pet, a black cat named Mindy, in 2024.
She spent her final months in the constant care of her son and daughter-in-law. She was content to enjoy good food and good company, and was a bingo champion.
Dianne is preceded in death by John, her husband of 58 years, as well as her parents Martha L. (Kwiatkowski) and Nelson F. Duerr. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Nelson Duerr, Jr.
She is survived by her son John J. Fox (Brenda Arant Fox), four grandchildren: Martin Fox, Mary Rose Fox (Justin Keoninh), Patrick Fox (Rebekah Tweed-Fox), and Ian Fox; and two great grandchildren: Phelan and Lupin Keoninh. She is also survived by her sister Joni Bannister (Don), nephews Kenny and Timmy Bannister (Crystal Fudalik), and sister-in-law Susan Fox.
