Donald was born in Lewistown, PA on July 22, 1935 to Layton Lyman Treaster and Helen Virginia Geissinger Treaster. He proudly served in the United States Navy for 20 years as an aviation hydraulics mechanic. His service included two tours in Vietnam. As a civilian, Donald was a line mechanic at Westside Volkswagon and a gunsmith at Green Acres Sporting Goods. He enjoyed deer hunting, freshwater and saltwater fishing, as well as primitive black powder and muzzleloader shooting. He was a member of the Treaty Oak Long Rifles Club and Gateway Gun Club. He was also an avid racing/NASCAR fan.
Donald was survived by his spouse, Donna Treaster, and his three children, Donald, Jr., Scott and Tina from his late wife of 50 years, Judith Esther Shaw Treaster. He also had four grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.
His family would like to give Special Thanks to Brooks Rehabilitation Hospital, Bartram Campus and Baptist Medical Center South for their care and compassion during Donald’s stay with them, and the Baptist South Community Hospice and Palliative Care team for their help with his transition.
A private service will be held for the family.
