Dorothy Jean Horne

Dorothy Jean (Dot) Horne was an amazing woman and a pillar of faith to all who knew her. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. Dot went to be with her Lord & Savior on September 3, 2018 at the age of 87.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Horne and her beloved son, Buddy Horne. She will be missed by everyone whose life she touched in her own special way, but none will miss her more that her daughter, Marie Pfeil. She is also survived by three grandchildren, Jennifer Marshall, Jason Pfeil and his wife Erin, and Jennifer Smith and her husband Jason; and two great-grandchildren, Tobin and Raney Smith. She was adored by her grandchildren who called her Grandma DeeDee, a title she cherished.

Dot worked for many years in the family dry cleaners and then for many more at JCPenney. She was a faithful member of the Old Central Baptist Church, Emmanuel Baptist, and finally, Ft. Caroline Baptist.

She was a prayer warrior and loved her Savior. Her Soul is now in Paradise. Thanks be to God!

Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm to 5:00 pm on Thursday, September 6, 2018 at Ft. Caroline Baptist Church, 11428 McCormick Rd, 32225 followed by the funeral service at 5:00 pm. Interment will take place at 10:00 am on Friday, September 7, 2018 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. N, 32225.
