Dorothy Mae Simmons, age 92, passed away November 21, 2015 in Satsuma, Florida. Dorothy was born June 10, 1923 in Flint Rock, Florida to John Russell and Bitha Mae (Holden) Wood. She was preceded in death by her husband of 75 years Chesley T. Simmons in 2014, son Thomas Simmons Jr., and three brothers. Dorothy was member of First Baptist Church of San Mateo and a Worthy Matron of Eastern Star # 270 Wood Stock Park Chapter. She is survived by loving sister Sara Brown (JW); five grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren. Family will receive friends and family from 11:00 am – 12:00 pm Wednesday November 25, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205, www.townandcountryfuneralhome.com. Funeral services will follow the visitation at 12:00 pm at the funeral home. Interment will follow services at Riverside Memorial Park.
