

Dwayne Allen Schell was born on January 9, 1963 in Moberly, Missouri and passed away on October 30, 2022 in Atlantic Beach, Florida with his family at his side. Dwayne graduated from Moberly High School in Moberly, Missouri class of 1982. Dwayne joined the United States Navy thereafter. After serving in the US Navy, he became employed by the Ring Power Corporation for 35 years. Dwayne worked there as a diesel mechanic for many years and then eventually became a dispatcher.
Dwayne spent many of his years serving God and his community at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Atlantic Beach, Florida. He was appointed by the Bishop of the Diocese of St. Augustine in 2000 as a Catholic Extraordinary Minister and brought the Eucharist to those who were elderly and sick up until his last battle with pancreatic cancer. Dwayne also belonged to several different ministries within the church such as playing guitar with the 9:00 AM Choir and Couples for Christ. He was the ultimate Pastor, Provider, and Protector. Dwayne enjoyed fishing, barbequing, and spending time with his family and close friends. He especially loved being with his grandson in which he shared a unique and beautiful bond with. Dwayne was preceded in death by his father, Darrell Wayne Schell; father-in-law, Rickey James Martin; paternal grandparents, John and Leona Schell; and maternal grandparents, Albert and Tillie Smith.
Dwayne is survived by his wife, Teresita Schell; son and daughter-in-law, Danny & Marygrace Schell; grandson, Tauren Immanuel James-Ruiz Schell; mother and step-father, Victoria (Vicki) & Robert Smith; mother-in-law, Betty Martin; siblings Scott Schell & Michael Weldon, John Schell & Connie Dunwoody, Bernard Martin, Cathy Martin & Kim Vendryes; aunt and uncle, Darlene & Norval Spotts; cousins Kim Massey, Steve Spotts & Mike Spotts; nephews John R. Schell & Mason Schell; and grandnephews John E. Schell & Alexander Schell.
A visitation for Dwayne will be held on Wednesday November 9, 2022 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. A funeral mass of Christian burial will occur on Thursday November 10, 2022 at 9:00 AM at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, 2400 Mayport Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32233. A committal service will follow on Thursday November 10, 2022 at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225.
