Eddie Viacrusis Lato, 69, passed away Tuesday, May 15, 2012. He was born on April 13, 1943 in Leyte, Philippines to Constancio Tito Lato and Antonia Viacrusis Lato. He served and retired in the US Navy as Senior Chief Petty Officer. During the time in the US Navy he won multiple awards including “Recruiter of the Year” in the Florida panhandle. Eddie was also a 4th degree member for The Knights of Columbus. He was an active volunteer of several ministries at The Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. He is survived by his wife of 42 years, Rosemarie A. Lato of Jacksonville, FL; son, Edward A. Lato; daughter, Desiree A. Lato; and grandson, Tyler Coleman. Eddie will always be remembered as a loving father, grandfather, friend and giver to everyone in the community and his legacy will remain in the hearts of friends and family for years to come. The family visitation to greet friends will be held on Monday, May 21, 2012 from 6:00pm until 8:00pm, at Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, 8523 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL. 32221. The Prayer Service will be held at 5:00pm prior to the family visitation greeting their friends. The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 22, 2012 at 10:00am , Most Holy Redeemer Catholic Church. The Funeral Mass will conclude at the Church. The Lato family will have a Graveside Funeral Service at a later date in Jacksonville National Cemetery of Jacksonville, FL.
