Edward Rowen Joyce Jr.

He was born on October 20, 1927 and raised in St. Augustine, Florida where he met and married the love of his life, Leland Livingston White. He is predeceased by his parents, Ann Cobb Joyce and Edward Rowen Joyce, both of St. Augustine, Florida. He is survived by Leland, his devoted wife of 66 years and five married children: LeeAnn Tuohy (John), Judy Walsh (John), Edward Joyce (Stacey), Theo Harnage (Michael), and Adele Richardson (Tim). These five families enriched Ed's life with the love of 20 grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren. Ed was predeceased by his loving sister, Mary Scott and her husband, Richard. Ed always relished time spent with family, including his sister's 3 children: Vicki (John), Cathy (Hal), and Rich (JJ).

Ed was proud to serve as an officer in the United States Navy and Navy Reserve. He graduated from the University of Mississippi and later was employed as a chemical engineer, a newspaper columnist and an adjunct professor. As a man of many interests, Ed was an avid reader and history buff who also enjoyed stamp and coin collecting as well as traveling with family and friends. Everyone appreciated his quick wit and dry sense of humor. He was a much loved and involved husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and uncle. He leaves all of us with countless treasured memories.

Through the years, Ed actively participated and served in his church. His steadfast faith in Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior gives us the assurance that his departure from this world is not permanent. We all look forward to a future reunion with him in heaven. Ed's loving legacy of a life well-lived is his gift to us all.
