Elizabeth was born on July 13, 1926, in the small rural community of Moxley, Georgia She attended and graduated from Wadley High School in 1943 laying the foundation for a life marked by hard work and dedication In September Of that year, she married her beloved husband, Donald Heyward Aldred (born May 2 1921). and together they built life in Jacksonville, Florida, Side by side they established 8th St. Radio - TV Hi-Fi, a successful radio and TV repair shop, where Elizabeth played vital role. She meticulously kept the books and warmly greeted customers, ensuring that their business flourished.
Long before society widely recognized women's independence and leadership Elizabeth lived as a testament to perseverance and success. She was not only a dedicated businesswoman but also a loving wife, a loyal friend, and compassionate soul who cared deeply for those around her. Though she and Don never had children, she filled her home with love, caring for her cherished kittens--her little "fur babies" who brought her endless joy. She is survived by several cousins who will greatly miss her.
Faith was the foundation of Elizabeth's life. She and Don joined Jacksonville Seventh-day Adventist Church in May of 1948, where they faithfully attended until they were no longer physically able. She found great comfort and strength in her relationship with God, knowing that this life is but a moment in the greater promise of eternity. Even in her later years, when she could no longer be present in church, she remained steadfast in her faith, drawing near to her Savior through prayer and devotion.
After the passing of her husband and mother, Elizabeth continued to live in Jacksonville, finding companionship and purpose in the friendships she cherished. She enjoyed keeping up with political and local news and found comfort in watching classic television shows that reminded her of times past.
Elizabeth's life was one of quiet strength, integrity, and kindness. She was deeply loved, and she will be profoundly missed. Yet, we do not say goodbye forever but rather, "Rest well, dear Elizabeth, until we meet again." For we hold fast to the promise of 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17:
"For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first shout, with the voice of Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord."
Elizabeth now sleeps in the peace of God, awaiting the resurrection morning when she will rise again to eternal life with her Savior Until that glorious day, we cherish her memory, honor her legacy, and find comfort in the blessed hope we share.
Rest well, Elizabeth, until Jesus comes.
Amen.
