Ernie was a man who deeply valued his family and his faith. These were the foundations of his life and guided the way he loved, served, and showed up for those around him. He found meaning in being present for the people he cared about and drew strength and comfort from his beliefs throughout his life.
He will be greatly missed by his wife, Marlene; his daughter, Vicki (Jose); and his grandson and best friend, Jacob.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to Community Hospice of Jacksonville or Fairview Baptist Church in Mohawk, Tennessee.
He will be remembered for his devotion, his steady presence, and the love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
The family will receive friends at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, located at 850 St Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225, on January 31, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. With a memorial service starting at 11:00 am.
