Kent attended Jacksonville University and majored in Airport Management. He loved flying single engine airplanes and worked as a retail associate at JC Penneys for over 30 years and Brookdale Southside for four additional years.
He was the son of Marilou and Forrest Guthrie. He is survived by an older brother, Lane Guthrie and two older sisters, Karen Albury and Brenda Guthrie, a brother-in-law, Steve Buser and many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Jacksonville Humane Society.
