Frances Bush Williams, age 100, passed away on October 31, 2022. She was born in Louisville, KY on November 25, 1921 to Thomas Nohalty and Ruth Nohalty and grew up in Louisville until she married Jesse Bush on November 12, 1947 and spent a week long honeymoon traveling to Jacksonville, FL where her husband was stationed at NAS Jax.
She then raised 4 children and sent them to St. Matthew’s Catholic School and the boys went on to Bishop Kenny High School. She worked for 20 years for the Navy Wives Nursey Child Center and another 20 years for General Die Manufacturing. She was a loving mother who sacrificed her time while raising her children, making sure they were always ready for school while also helping the boys get to their sporting events and her daughter getting to the stables to ride horses.
After her children had moved and finished college she decided she wanted to go back to school where she earned an Associates of Arts Degree from Florida Junior College. She remained single after her first husband Jesse died in 1967, until she met Richard Williams at the cemetery where their spouses were buried. A beautiful romance blossomed and they were married in October of 1996.
Frances loved cooking all her life and bowling in her younger years. She was also a caring mother and grandmother and at 100 years old became a great-grandmother.
She had a remarkable ability to love others as well as serving others. She was a lifetime member of the Jacksonville Navy Wife’s #86 and a lifetime member of St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. Later in life she became a member of the Lake Shore Women’s Club. Frances almost lived to be 101 years old and even though she endured hardships along the way her faith carried her through life. She will always be remembered for having a beautiful smile, gorgeous blue eyes and loving and giving heart, even until the end of her life here on earth.
Frances is survived by sons Thomas Bush (Marilyn), Dennis Bush and Timothy Bush (Susan); daughter Bonnie Bohannon (Leslie); grandsons Shawn Bush , Jonathan Bush, Chase Bohannon and Richard Bush; granddaughters Whitney Melcolm (Derek), Paige Bush, Rachel Bush, Alexandra Bush and Taylor Bohannon; and great-granddaughter Madelyn Bohannon.
Preceded by parents Thomas and Ruth Nohalty; husband Jesse Bush and husband Richard Williams.
