Franklin H. McMichael, 77, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015 in Gainesville, FL. He was born May 6, 1938 to Ottis and Mattie McMichael in Newnan, GA. Franklin loved photography and to take videos of family and friends. He also enjoyed very much to do woodworking and carpentry as well as working on cars and to travel. He had a contagious laugh and sense of humor. He is preceded in death by his parents, one daughter Rita Campese McMichael, two brothers Russell McMichael, David McMichael, one sister Doris (Buford) Howard, one brother-in-law J.W. Williams. Franklin is survived by his wife of 17 years Conie, three sons Steve (Stephanie) McMichael, Frankie McMichael, Colin McMichael, one daughter Diane McMichael, two sisters Martha (Felton) Chastain, Sarah Williams, one sister-in-law Rena McMichael, 9 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and a lot of nieces and nephews. A visitation for family and friends will be held on Sunday, May 10, 2015 from 9:30-11:00am at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Memorial service to follow at 11:00am.
