Frederick Otto Boyett, 74, entered heaven on Saturday morning, December 15, 2012, while resting peacefully at Community Hospice on Sunbeam Road. Fred was born to Harold Edwin and Dorothy May (Mosholder) Boyett on August 15, 1938 in Cleveland, Ohio. He lived in Cleveland until he graduated from John Marshall High School in 1956. He then went on to serve faithfully in the United States Coast Guard and the United States Air Force. While in the military, he met Marie Theresa Volpe. They were married August 13, 1961. Later he worked for RCA Victor, and then Sweda International, prior to becoming an entrepreneur. He founded Best Cash Register in 1982, a thriving local business servicing retail stores throughout Northeast Florida, until he sold it and retired in 2000. Fred became a born again Christian in 1979. In retirement, he became an ordained minister in July of 2001, and went on to lead the Christian Veterans Association, an organization dedicated to the spiritual needs of Veterans of the United States Military. Fred was a member of East Pointe Church, where he attended services regularly until his health failed. Fred was a remarkable man who, unfortunately, spent the majority of the past decade in hospital rooms. He used his time there to share his love of Jesus. He asked permission from each person who entered his room, “May I ask you a question?” and of course everyone would say “yes.” And then he would ask, “Has anyone told you today that Jesus Loves You?” and they would either smile or say “no.” Fred would then say, “Jesus loves you and so do I.” He shared the love of Christ with everyone with whom he came in contact. Fred was predeceased by his father, Harold Edwin Boyett and his mother, Dorothy May (Mosholder) Boyett, and his son-in-law Michael Marason. He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Marie Boyett, his son, Harold Boyett (Wendi), and his daughters Justine Marason and Dorothy Boyett. He is also survived by his sister, Constance Mae Wendt, and his six grandchildren: Andrew Marason, Adam Mace, Nicholas Boyett, Emerson Boyett, Eric Marason, and Olivia Marason, as well as nieces and nephews and other immediate family. The family is very thankful for the support of friends and family, as well as the staff at Community Hospice. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 22nd at 10:30 am at East Pointe Church at 270 North Kernan Boulevard, Jacksonville, Florida 32225. Reverends Scot Rippy and Mark McGaughey will lead the memorial. Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road, Jacksonville, FL.
