Georgana Lee (Fry) Dekker was born into this world on the sixth of December 1951. She was born in Grand Rapids, Michigan, to George Fry Jr. And Arlene Tomasina (Maves) Fry. She went to Lee junior high school; where she met “Henry”, her future husband (Hindrik Dekker) in the seventh grade, though it was anything but love at first sight. That would take God two more pushes. Georgana went on to graduate from Lee High school, meet Hindrik for the third time, and married him on 14 August 1971. Having never left Michigan, save a senior high school trip to Washington, she joined Hindrik moving across the country to many naval stations, including a tour in Hawaii. As he served his country for over 26 years, she never wavered or complained. She stayed by his side and he by hers. She bore him four sons. Georgana studied accounting and was an accountant for an auto paint company in San Diego. When they transferred to Surface Warfare school in New Port Rhode Island, she became an accountant for the Base Navy exchange. A true-life companion, loving mother, extremely caring grandmother and great- grandmother, plus a very faithful friend, Georgana celebrated her 74th birthday with her husband, sons, and friends, alert and happy. She also saw Christmas with her sons. Then, early on the 26th of December, Georgana slipped peacefully from this world and entered Abraham’s bosom to hold her great grandson who passed just before her.
Georgana is preceded in death by her father, George, mother, Arlene, brother, Daniel Aavern, and great grandson, Nathan Lukas.
She is survived by her husband, Hindrik, sons Hindrik George Dekker (Sharisa), Vincent Ke Alii Dekker (Elisa), Gerrit Johan Dekker, and Lukas Jan Dekker (Renee), sisters Amy and Karen, grandsons Nikolas Jan Dekker, Mathew Daniel Dekker, Jacob Dekuiper, and Joie Dekuiper, granddaughters Madelyn, Samantha, Jacklyn and Amber Lynn, 2 great-grandsons, and 4 great granddaughters.
