George Cecil Ammons, age 89, passed away Tuesday, April 28, 2015 in Jacksonville, Florida. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and will be missed dearly by his loving wife Ralphine Ammons; son Gary Ammons; daughter Vicki Black; two grandsons Jason Black and Matthew Black. He was preceded in death by his son-in-law Don Black. George was a veteran of the United States Navy and served during WWII. He worked as a metalsmith at NAS Jax for 25years. Family will receive friends and family 10:00 –11:00 am Thursday, April 30, 2015 at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. A funeral service will follow the visitation at 11:00 am at the funeral home.
