Gwendolyn Fredricka Morgan

Gwendolyn (Gwen) Fredericka Morgan was born in Havre de Grace, Maryland on December 6, 1944 to Bernadine W. McKinney and the late Freddie Williams. Surrounded by her loving Husband, Children, Grandchildren, and Great Grandchildren at Baptist Medical Center, Gwen was called home to be with our Father God on Wednesday afternoon, April 13, 2016. She was 71 years old.

Gwen received her formal education in Harford County Maryland, graduating from Havre de Grace Maryland Consolidated High School. She attended Business School after relocating to the District of Columbia and was employed by the Department of Environmental Protection Agency in Washington, DC.; retiring with 30 years of service with the Federal Government.

Gwen and her husband Vernon Morgan moved to Jacksonville Florida to be with their Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren. She was a faithful member of Joshua Christian Faith Center under the leadership of Pastor Fredrick Pinckney, and was the Secretary of the Church for two years.

Gwen enjoyed spending time with her family and had a true passion for sewing, designing clothing and performing alternations, so much that she used those talents in her church.

Gwen is survived by her loving and dedicated family : husband- Vernon Morgan, daughter- Shandela (Evette) Stokes (Sean), sons- John Joyner (Letitica), Sylvester Jones (Desiree), mother- Bernadine W. McKinney, brothers - Roosevelt Turner (Sharon), Malcolm Brown (Luicle), sisters -Patricia Graham (David), Helen Christy and Quida Graham. Eleven Grandchildren, Tikia Proctor (Jerome), Marcus Hunter (Jasmine), John Proctor, Kara Joyner, Dante Lewis (Amanda), Telante Lewis, Niyah Lewis, Steven Joyner, Niyzhee’ Lewis, Mark Proctor and Sylve’ Jones. Fifteen Great grandchildren, a godson- Zane Waldon an aunt, uncle, a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
