

Harriet Ann Watson, age 91, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 23, 2025, in Jacksonville, Florida. Ann was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, mother-in-law, and cherished friend to many. Born on February 20, 1934 in Bath, Maine, she was the beloved daughter of two loving parents.
Ann met the love of her life, Richard Garvin Watson, in 1977 at Relaford’s Bar in Jacksonville, Florida. They were married for thirty-nine wonderful years. They raised a beautiful family of six children: Steve, Patricia, Robert, Michael, Terrie, and Jon.
Ann’s kindness, unwavering love, and dedication to her family were evident in everything she did. She treasured moments spent with family and friends, creating lasting memories at gatherings, celebrations, and simple everyday moments. She enjoyed working at various places throughout her years, some including K-mart, Walmart, and Hole in the Wall. Ann also loved knitting. She found immense joy in spending time with her fifteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Ann had a heart of gold and a spunk that made her one of a kind.
Ann leaves a legacy of many. She is survived by her six children. She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Richard; grandson, Jon Jr.; and granddaughter, Lyndsey.
Family, friends, and those whose lives Ann touched are invited to a viewing at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Memorial Park and Funeral Home on Thursday, February 27th at five o'clock in the evening. A church service at Shindler Baptist Church with lunch will be held in Ann’s honor at ten o’clock in the morning on Friday, February 28th, with an open casket viewing starting at nine o’clock in the morning. Her final resting place will be at the Jacksonville National Cemetery. A burial service will be held at eleven o’clock in the morning on Wednesday, March 5th.
