Helen Fry-Hartman, 95, of Braselton, Georgia, passed away peacefully on Thursday, November 7, 2024. Born in Detroit, Michigan on March 23, 1929, she was the daughter of the late D.S. Beckett and Isabell Jennings.
Helen was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, and a cherished member of the community. She was predeceased by her husbands Paul Fry and John Hartman, her sister Cheryl Vasquez, and her daughter-in-law Chong Fry. Despite these losses, Helen’s spirit remained resilient, and she found comfort and joy in her family, her church, and her many interests.
A dedicated member of Whistleville Christian Church in Winder, Georgia, Helen’s faith was at the core of her life. She was passionate about square dancing, pottery, and home decorating, always finding beauty and creativity in everything she did. She also had a deep love for butterflies, which symbolized the grace and beauty she embodied in her own life.
Helen is survived by her son, Gregory Fry, and his wife Josephine. She is also survived by her granddaughter Kimberly Smith (Jason) and great-granddaughters Evelyn and Alice, her granddaughter Christina Avin (Matt) and great-granddaughter Madison, and her grandson Peter Magin, who all brought her much joy in her later years.
A visitation for family and friends will be held on Tuesday, November 12, 2024, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, Florida 32225. A committal service will follow at 11:00 AM at Chapel Hills Memory Gardens.
Helen’s memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her, and she will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and the many lives she touched.
