Helen Hall Nurse

NURSE Helen Hall Nurse, 91, went home to be with the Lord on April 11, 2014. She was born in Rodman, Florida on April 24, 1922 and moved to Jacksonville as a child. She retired from her position as a supervisor at JEA in 1974. Helen loved the Lord, her family, and her church, Holiday Hill Baptist and her pastor, Dr. Albert Byrd. She and Harry L. Nurse, Sr. were married on March 15, 1942. Survivors include their 3 children, Harry L. Nurse, Jr (Jan), Larry Nurse, Sr. (Debbie) and Judith Ann Rawlins; fourteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. She was predeceased by her husband, Harry, Sr. her son-in-law, William G. Rawlins, Jr. and four siblings. Visitation will be held from 3:00 pm until 6:00 pm on Thursday, April 17, 2014 at Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St. Johns Bluff Road North, Jacksonville, FL 32225. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, April 18, 2014 at the Holiday Hill Baptist Church, 730 Mandalay Rd, Jacksonville, FL. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will be in Riverside Memorial Park following the funeral. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Holiday Hill Baptist Church Building Fund or Community Hospice of NE FL.
