

North Vietnam. He and his family left North Vietnam in
1954 for the South Vietnam in order to keep his freedom
of speech, religion, etc ... He graduated from the Dalat
officer academy in 1957 in Vietnam. He worked in the
military of the South Vietnam from 1957 to 1975. His
last post was in Phu Lam radar station in Saigon. His
military rank was a major in Signal branch. He and his
first son left Vietnam in 1982, first stayed in Pulau Bidon,
Malaysia, then in Palawan, Philippines, and fmally settled
in Jacksonville, Florida in September, 1982. He attended
and graduated from Florida Community College at
Jacksonville cum laude in 1987. The rest of his family
reunited with him in Jacksonville, Florida in 1990. He
was a former employee at Boger's shoes, then at
American Technical Ceramics, and retired from there in
2000. He will be remembered for his love for his family,
his church, and his country. One of his daughters, Nga
Phan passed away in 1998, and his wife passed away in
2005. He passed' away on Febl3, 2012. He survives by
his twelve children: 8 daughters, 4 sons, and 11
grandchildren. The viewing will be on Thursday 2/16/12
at 7PM at Chapel Hills Funeral Home, 850 St John Bluffs
Road North in Jacksonville, Florida, the funeral mass will
be held at Blessed Trinity Catholic Church, 10472 Beach
Blvd, Jacksonville, Florida on Friday 2/17/12 at lOAM,
and the burial ceremony will be at Greenlawn Cemetery
after mass.
