SHAFER Howard L. Shafer, age 88, passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 in Jacksonville, Florida. Howard was born July 25, 1925 in Augusta, Kansas to Harry and Emma Ewalt Shafer. Howard was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints on Firestone. He is preceded in death by wife Elsie Shafer, one son Fred Hiatt and one daughter Sherry Bolio. Survivors include beloved; one son Tom (Karen) Shafer, three daughters Janet (Frank) Garrett, Judy (John) Brewer, and Cindy Shafer; eight grandchildren Melissa Ghiaradelli, Shane Shafer, Jesse Baker, Steven Shafer, Angela Shafer, Alex Brewer, and Daniel Garrett; Seven great grandchildren Kris Shafer, Devan Shafer, Jacob Shafer, Kaleb Mcgouey, Noah Shafer, Kaileah Baker, Ryan Ghirardelli and Regan Ghirardelli.
