Ila Louise Tillman, age 93, passed away on March 7th, 2026. Born June 25th,1932 in Atlanta, Ga (to Julian Alfonso and Foy Lynn Williamson) where she spent her childhood and formulative years. In her late teens she moved to Jacksonville, Florida, a place that would become her lifelong home when she met and married Conrad Tillman, together raising four children.
She had a deep love for animals and believed every creature deserved care and compassion, sharing her home with many beloved pets. She found great joy in gardening and reading and loved meeting people…she never met a stranger.
She had a remarkable memory and could recall names, places and moments stretching back nearly a century, keeping alive the stories of generations before her. Through her memories, past remained present and family history was never forgotten.
Ila leaves behind a legacy of kindness, resilience, and love for the simple joys of life: animals at her feet, flowers in bloom, and a good book close at hand. A life so beautifully lived deserves to be beautifully remembered.
Survived by daughters Valerie (Steve Hancock) and Debbie, son Tommy, five grandchildren, six great grandchildren, and one great-great grandchild. Preceded in death by Conrad Sr (husband), Conrad Jr (son), and Kimberly (granddaughter).
