Jack Leland Carter, age 89, went home to be with the Lord August 21st, 2020. Jack was born in Jacksonville, FL on September 4th, 1930. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army and was retired from Crowley Maritime. He was a faithful member of Gardenview Baptist Church. Jack is preceded in death by his parents, John and Jenny Carter, 5 siblings, Ted, Alvin, Mary, Virginia, and Alma, his daughter, Lori Thomas (Jeff) and grandson, Harold O'steen. He is survived by his loving wife of 43 years, Flora (Davis) Carter, children Sandy Eason (Ronnie), Rose Jones, Julie Apromollo (Tom), Jackie Carter and 2 step children, Alan James (Joie) and Linda Boone (Billy), 16 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren, 3 great great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A Celebration of Life will be held 12 PM Tuesday August 25, 2020 with an hour prior gathering at Garden View Baptist Church, 3139 Armsdale Road Jacksonville, Florida 32218. A reception will be held at the church following the Celebration service.
