Dr. Baker known by close friends as “Bill” was born April 9, 1941 in Covington, Kentucky. He was the oldest son of five children born to Mr. James W. Baker II and Adele P. Baker and was raised in Williamsburg, Ohio. Bill entered into the Navy right after High School and served as Radio Electrician. He later worked at General Electric as an Electronics Technician, was a Maintenance and Control Technician for HVAC at Bethesda Hospital in Ohio and worked for the U.S. Postal Service. He was also a teacher and taught at every grade level. His favorite teaching position of all was at Tutor Time here in Jacksonville, Florida. All the children brought him joy and were very dear to him as were the staff and parents.
Bill’s greatest achievement of all was becoming a chiropractor. For him, being a chiropractor wasn’t just a profession, but a gift from God that allowed him to help those in need and restore them to good health. Being a chiropractor was his most rewarding experience in life and he loved being able to serve others.
Bill and his wife loved to travel, go on cruises, drive around in their 57 Chevy and attend antique car shows. Sometimes it was just going for a walk on the beach and enjoying God’s beauty and the company of each other. Bill made every day count. He was always a gentleman, fun to be with and made you smile. He will be greatly missed.
Bill leaves behind his loving wife of 19 years, Linda; brothers Kenny (Brenda), Barry (Beverly); sisters, Kathy and Barbara, also brother-in-law David Lifka(Sherry); favorite nephew, Andrew Lifka; niece Natalie (Nick); sister-in-law Sharon and nieces Christy and Katie; Aunt Marilyn; his favorite boss, Dana, whom he highly respected and his co-workers Yolanda, Sherry and Steve; his beloved dog Princess whom he adored, our cat Midnight; his Aunt Lucille and Uncle Bill, his Aunt Joan, and special friends Jim and Jackie, Dave and Karla, Deinya, Jean and Barbara, Darrell, Bill and Frances, Phil & Karen and Tom & Peggy and Nicholas, as well as many others who shared special moments with Bill that are unique to them and will be remembered with love and a smile.
