
James Lee McColley, born August 25, 1969 in Fort Dodge, Iowa to Roy and Lora McColley. In 1986, James joined the Army National Guard and served 8 years in the Reserves. In 1988, he moved to St. Louis, Missouri to pursue his career with the Airlines Industry and it was on the tarmac at the Lambert-St.Louis International Airport while inhaling the jet fumes that he met the love to his life, Tammy Erin. That year changed his life, he was baptized in Jesus Name and received the Gift of the Holy Ghost and on May 18th 1989, James and Tammy were married. His life was full of exciting travel and adventurous trips.
In 2008, James moved the family to Jacksonville, Florida where he eventually started his own construction company called “ Handy Home Care LLC” and was faithfully involved in the Kingdom of God at Christ Church Pentecostal where he served as an Usher and Singer in the Praise & Worship Team. On August 14, 2024, the birthday of his dear wife, James went home to be with the Lord.
James’ whole life was his family and service to God. His legacy continues with his wife, Tammy Erin McColley and children, Douglas Gerald Triplett and Natalie Erin (Shane) Lough, grandchildren, Hailey Elizabeth Goddard, Brynley Sloane Lough and McKinley Shae Lough; his brothers, Wayne (Daisy) McColley,Mark McColley, Robert (Lee) McColley, Richard (Cami) McColley and sister Marla (John) Norman, and all his church family.
The Celebration of Life Service will begin at 1:30pm followed by a graveside interment at 3pm at Chapel Hill Memory Gardens 850 Saint Johns Bluff Rd., N. Jacksonville, Florida. A Repast with food and refreshments will follow back at Christ Church Pentecostal and all are invited to attend and fellowship with the McColley family.
