James Harold Messer, 74, passed away Sunday, March 25, 2012. He was born on July 17, 1937, in Waynesville, NC to John and Violet (Wright) Messer. He is preceded in death by his parents and one brother Kenneth Messer. James is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Frances Louise Messer; his devoted daughter Shelia Hall(Chester); one sister Juanita Stamey(Sam); three brothers Johnny Ray Messer(Geraldine), Jerry Messer( Sue) Ralph Messer(Lou); one sister-in-law Joann Messer; four grandchildren Dalena Hall (Stephen), Renee Johnson(Corry), Terry Hall (David), Kevin Hall(Sandi); four great-grandchildren Jennelle Hall( Dustin), Amber Taylor, Morgan Johnson, and Payton Johnson. He was also passionate and enjoyed fishing, hunting, working in the yard and garden, watching Nascar, and a good baseball game. Harold never met a stranger and loved to help others in time of need. The family visitation will be held on Tuesday, March 27, 2012, from 6:00pm until 8:00pm at Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205. Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, March 28, 2012, at 11:00am in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home. Burial will follow services in Riverside Memorial Park.
