

Ray was born September 21st, 1924, in Greeley, CO to Tom and Fern Cook. She graduated from high school in Casper, WY in 1942.
She met and married her childhood love and husband of 69 years, Don, and spent the next 30 years living in the U.S., Germany and Japan following her husband in his career as an Air Force officer and fighter pilot. Among her many pursuits and pastimes, she served as an administrative assistant to a Wells Fargo bank president, a Stretch and Sew instructor, a yoga instructor and was an accomplished artist, seamstress and creator of countless joyful things that she bestowed freely to her adoring family and loved ones.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Col. Donald E. Ray and son Alan C. Ray. She is survived by her sister Dorothy Dickey, son Michael D. Ray and wife Carol, of Jacksonville, FL and three grandchildren: Justin Ray and wife Anna, Dr. Autumn Ray, and 1st Lt. Christian Ray and wife Allison.
Arrangements are under the care of Hardage-Giddens Chapel Hills 850 St. Johns Bluff Rd. North, Jacksonville, FL 32225 (904)641-9755. A memorial Service will take place this Saturday at 10 am with a visitation 9:30am, one half hour prior to her service.
