

Jeanne Lopardo Seablom (“Gammy”) , 94, passed away on March 3rd, 2022 in Jacksonville, Florida. She passed peacefully, surrounded by loved ones holding her hand. She was the wife of Alfred Seablom, with whom she shared 67 years of marriage together. It was a marriage filled with commitment, laughter, and genuine love. They truly created a beautiful life together.
Born in Springfield, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of Rose and Joseph Lopardo. She graduated from American International College in Springfield with a Bachelors of Education. She achieved a Masters degree, as well. She was employed at David Prouty High School in Spencer, Massachusetts as a Business Education teacher. She treated every student with kindness and had an authentic belief in their abilities. She was the kind of teacher whom the students knew cared about them.
After marrying Alfred she moved to Jacksonville and belonged to St. Matthew’s Catholic Church. She had a deep faith in God, and her faith and generous heart allowed her to live for others more than herself. She found the good in every single person she met. It never took long for those who met her to know how much she cared about them, their stories, and their loved ones. She enjoyed cooking classic Italian dishes for her family, taking care of her children and grandchildren, sewing, golfing, reading endlessly, and baking from the heart.
To her family and friends, Jeanne was sunshine inside and out. She was quick to smile, laugh, and love. Her sweet tooth was almost as big as her heart. She acquired vast amounts of wisdom in her rich life and simply wished to pass it along to those who might benefit from it. Above all, she embodied the sentiment “People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel.” She made people feel extraordinary, just by being themselves.
She is survived by her husband, Alfred Seablom, Jr., daughter Theresa Joseph and her husband Bradford, granddaughter Kara Joseph, all of Jacksonville, Florida; son Michael Seablom and his wife Kimberly, granddaughters Elizabeth and Natalie Seablom, all of Washington, DC. She is also survived by granddaughter Jennifer Hughes and her husband Ryan, of Charleston, South Carolina. She was predeceased by her parents Rose and Joseph Lopardo and her brothers Andrew and Joseph Lopardo, all of Springfield, Massachusetts.
The world became a better place by having her in it and she will be deeply missed by many.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
A graveside service for Jeanne will be held Tuesday, March 8, 2022 at 11:00 AM at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205.
