Jerome is also survived by 3 sisters, Eunice M O’Steen (Cecil), Sylvia J Fuller (Charles), Molly Faye, & a brother, John Allen Hembree Harrell (Nancy).
Joe was a fun-loving individual who loved to fish and enjoyed many fishing excursions with his brother John Allen. He loved the Georgia Bulldogs, (Go-Dawgs), playing horse-shoes, and bringing Santa Claus to the Annual Christmas Family Reunion. He loved his beard and some called him Santa all year long, he loved that. Joe loved to make music with his “Hee-Haw” Family Band while he played the Wash Board. There are many other interesting stories we could tell, however, a time of sharing will be enjoyed by the family.
Joe served his country in the United States Army plus 4 year tenure in the reserves. His Dad passed while he was stationed in Germany. Following his military tenure he worked for A & P Bakery on Beaver Street where his hand was caught in a mixer and he lost 2 fingers. He retired from Flav-O-Rich Daries and upon retirement enjoyed tenure with a transportation contractor driving employees of CSX Railroad across the Southeast.
Jerome grew up in a Christian Home and made a rededication of his Christian Faith in 2018. He shall be sorely missed and we look forward to a reunion in Heaven when at last, life as we know it on earth has passed.
