Rest in peace shipmate.   You were very funny and witty with your “Ask The Chief” program on the USS Forrestal.  Thanks for being nice and understanding every time I dealt with you in any way.

My sympathies to the family and friends.  I have fond memories of the Master Chief when he was CMC both times I was stationed on the FID.

I served with Master Chief during the 1988 Med/IO/North Atlantic cruise of 1988. An absolute wonderful CMC. He personally helped me with some problems I was having.

While I was “just airwing” to some that sure wasn’t the case with you.  You treated every Sailor as if they were your own son.    I can still remember walking by your office and you turn to acknowledge all of us with that smile asking how my day was going.   Fair Winds and Following Seas Master Chief. Best CMC that I ever served Afloat with. 
I served onboard the FID for almost ten years and it was because of Jerry. He was an inspiration to all who knew and served with him. He will be truly missed. Fair Winds and Following Seas. I will see you again soon, Master Chief.

Uncle “Chick” as Jerry was known to his sister Hilda and her sons Jeff and Mitchell Spinner.  They all were proud of him and want the family to know we all miss him dearly and will honor his memory, while sending our deepest heartfelt regards to Jerry’s wife, children, grandchildren and friends that love him too.

I'll always remember our visit fondly to Uncle Chick's when I was just 13 down in Florida and their visit to NY the next year.  It's been too long since.  His memory will be cherished forever and I am  glad he was able to meet my daughters and left an indelible mark.  Here's to his legacy.

Master Chief Schulman was my Command Master Chief on USS FORRESTAL in the early 1980’s and he was a force to be reckoned with in support of the crew. Our office was around the corner from his and you could hear him through the bulkhead :-)
A great leader that help mold the minds and careers of thousands of young men and women.

Deepest condolences to the family. I was ships company and  Master Chief  was my Command Master Chief on the USS Forrestal from 1988-90.
He loved his sailors and we loved him.

RIP Master Chief. You were such a fair and kind person while on the Forrestal. You treated the crew with dignity and respect and we were all equal in your eyes, especially to us ABHs. We have the watch sir.

I'm sad to hear of the passing of MC. He was a respected member of our ship and a very personable shipmate. I will always remember him and his smile. May he forever rest in peace.

One of the finest men I have ever known and I have never forgotten about him over the years and have shared many stories that included interactions I had with him over the  time I was on FID.  

I was ship's company from 1990-1992 and it was the best command on which I ever served.  My condolences to his entire family during this time.  Please know that this man was widely admired, loved and respected.

My condolences to the Schulman family.  Master Chief Schulman was the life of the party, I loved his show on cctv on the Forrestal, he was hilarious.   He was also an approachable man who kept that ship going.

Master Chief was the CMC on the Forrestal when I was a young ABH3. I got called into his office for a complaint he received and he was one of the nicest, most fair people I had ever met in the Navy up to that point. He earned my lifetime of respect and admiration. Rest in Peace Shipmate! We have the watch!
