

In loving memory of Master Chief Jerome Schulman, Aviation Boatswain’s Mate (ABCM). Jerome was born in Brooklyn, New York on November 2nd, 1936, who joined our heavenly Father on July 3rd, 2024 in Jacksonville, FL.
Jerome joined the U.S. Navy in 1954 which extended over a period of 38 years of service. Most of his career was spent on Aircraft Carriers and LPH’s, with an extended tour on the U.S.S Forrestal, CV-59 homeported in Mayport, FL. He enjoyed his shore duty in places such as Lakehurst, N.J. Milton, FL, and VP-30 at Jacksonville, FL. Upon his retirement in 1992, he was employed at various jobs in Jacksonville, FL.
His military decorations include: Meritorious Service Medal, Navy Commendation Medal, (3 Awards), Navy Achievement Medal, Joint Meritorious Unit Award, Meritorious, Meritorious Unit Commendation (2 Awards),Coast Guard Meritorious Unit Commendation with Operational Distinguishing Device, Navy “E” Ribbon, Good Conduct Medal (16 awards} National Defense Service Medal (3 awards), Armed Forces Expeditionary Medal, Vietnam Service Medal (5 awards}, Southwest Asia Service Medal, Sea Service Deployment Ribbons (8 awards), Philippine Republic Presidential unit Citation, Vietnam Campaign Medal, and the Kuwait Liberation Medal.
His breast insignias consisted of the following: Enlisted Aviation Warfare Specialist Wings (EAWS), Senior Enlisted Advisor Badge (SEA), Master Chief Petty officer of the Command Badge (MCPOC) and Command Master Chief Badge (CM/C).
Jerome is survived by his wife of 65 years, Irene Schulman; his children Jay Schulman, Suzy Schulman, Cindy Schulman-Kostenski; his grandchildren Josh Schulman, Shelley Schulman, Eric Ingalls, Jeremy Ingalls, Graysen Grimes; and his sister, Hilda Spinner. He is preceded in death by his grandson, Peyton Ingalls.
A visitation for Jerome will be held Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM at Hardage-Giddens, Riverside Memorial Park & Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL 32205. Following the visitation will be a graveside from 2:30 PM to 3:00 PM at Jacksonville National Cemetery, 4083 Lannie Rd, Jacksonville, FL 32218, Lane 2.
