She is preceded in death by her parents, Adrian G. and Frances A. (Crosby) Musgrove; her husband of 62 years, William D. Collier; her son, William Henry Collier; and her sisters, Ester, Serena, Murial and Pearl. Jewell is survived by her son George Collier (Pat), six grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren, and one great great grandchild, as well as many nieces and nephews. Like many women during WWII, Jewell served her country at Jacksonville Naval Air Station riveting planes - a real "Rosie the Riveter." She retired from the Jno. H. Swisher & Sons on September 1, 1980, where she worked as a cigar roller. She was a member of the Lady Bugs Sunday school class at Hope Baptist Church, Jacksonville, and enjoyed attending Hammond Senior Center. She was an excellent Southern cook, loved fishing, gardening and visiting family. Jewell, affectionately known as "Granny" will be missed by friends and family. Funeral arrangements will be at Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jax. FL 32205. Visitation will be Friday, July 26 from 6:00-8:00 pm.
