She worked at Lerners Clothing Department for 20 years as a bookkeeper before leaving the workforce to be a homemaker. Mrs. Stephens was a long-time member of Murray Hill Baptist Church having volunteered for the Girls Auxiliary group & director of the XYZ Senior Group coordinating events, luncheons and trips across Northeast Florida. JoeAnn and her late husband Harry Stephens drove and camped through 49 states. JoeAnn loved to cook and crochet.
She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years.
Mrs. Stephens is survived by her son Marvin “Merv” (Kim) Stephens; daughter Harriet Hice; four grandchildren, Brian (Laura) Hice, Kelly (Veasna) Koeut, Adam Stephens, Nolan (Ashley) Stephens; three great grandchildren, Cy DeAngelis Jr, Sloane Koeut and Paisley Stephens.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:30 am on Tuesday January 28th 2025 at Murray Hill Baptist Church. 4300 Post Street, Jacksonville, FL, 32205. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL, 32205. In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Community Hospice of Northeast Florida or Murray Hill Baptist Church.
