John Douglas Boone

Born in Pensacola, Florida into a military family, John was one of seven children to proud parents Rose “Bea” & Ralph Boone, Sr. In his early years, the family relocated to Jacksonville, Florida to be near NAS, Cecil Field. John, or “Jackie” or “Big John” as we would often say, was a proud charter graduate of Edward H. White High School. His collegiate history included Oral Roberts University, and the University of Florida where he was a beyond-dedicated UF orange and blue “Gator” fan. Over the years he was a proud participant of DeMolay International, multiple charities, Church ministry, and many youth-focused sports.

John is survived by his brothers Gerald Boone of Pensacola, FL; Mike Boone of Hoover, AL; Ted Boone of Acworth, GA; Steven Boone of Leesburg, FL; and his sister Nonie Holliday of Middleburg, FL. His love for God and family was evident by his life-long sharing with others. John had a soul truly committed to serving his community. His life and generosity of spirit touched more people than he ever realized.

Services will be held at Hardage-Giddens Riverside Funeral Home & Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd, Jacksonville, FL. Visitation, Thursday, June 1, 2023, 5-7pm, and Celebration of Life, Friday, June 2, 2023, 10am.
