John T. Gaston “Tommy” passed away on October 13, 2011 at the age of 65 with the comfort of his family by his side. He was born in Jacksonville, FL and served in the Us Marine Corps from 1964-1970 and was a Vietnam Veteran. He retired from Civil Service from NAS Jax Naval Supply Center. He was preceded in death by his father, Abner Gaston, mother, Lela Gaston, brother, CA Gaston, and sister, Virgina Lane. He is survived by his “Baby Doll” of 21 years, Gloria Witcher, his two sisters: Lela Mae Lee ( Carl), Elizabeth Davis, his four children: Tyrone, Stormy, Sonia and Gary, one grandson, Quincy, whom he affectionately called “Buck-a-Roo”, 4 nieces, 4 nephews and many other loved ones and friends. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 19th, 2011 in the Chapel of Hardage-Giddens Town and Country Funeral Home, 7242 Normandy Blvd. Interment will follow at 1:00 p.m. at Jacksonville National Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 18th, 2011 at the funeral home.
