John retired from the Orlando Sentinel after 20 years. Then he pursued a career in healthcare with Hospice.
John enjoyed music, travel, puzzles, nature and in his later years he discovered the joy of reading. John will be remembered for his kind spirit and love of animals. John and his wife were advocates for ending the stray cat population and participated in the trap and release (TNR) program with EveryPet.
Left to cherish his memory are his wife of 24 years, Theodosia (Teddy) Palermo, his sons Ryan Palermo (Lovely) and Brad Palermo (Irina); step-children Shelley Back (Adrian) and Nathan Lambert (Andrea), his nine grandchildren (five granddaughters and four grandsons); and his sidekick kitties, Lucky and Button.
