John Henry Tanner Jr. passed away from this life on Saturday, January 28, 2017 to join his heavenly Father. John, 65, was a lifelong resident of Jacksonville and was a faithful member of North Jacksonville Baptist Church. His favorite things were church, family and food. John graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in 1970. He was an avid Gator football fan. John had an infectious smile and was such a sweet man. He was loved by everyone who knew him. John is preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his siblings Frank, Pat, Debbie and Donna and their families. Hardage-Giddens Town & Country Funeral Home is serving the family. A visitation for friends will be held on Thursday, February 2, 2017 from 10-11am at North Jacksonville Baptist Church, 8531 N. Main St., Jacksonville, FL 32218. Funeral services to begin at 11am at the church with interment following at Riverside Memorial Park, 7242 Normandy Blvd., Jacksonville, FL 32205.
